Thaipusam Celebration "Sounds and Noise" Marc Behrens

In his new radio sound piece of CROWDS Marc Behrens records sounds at the Thaipusam festival at the Batu Caves on 7 February 2012.

His organized composition will be produced for a broadcasting premiere on March 23, 2012 under the commission of German Radio WDR 3.

On Fri, 3rd Feb at 8.30pm Marc Behrens plays concrete music with spatialized sound resources at KLPac's INDICINE; everybody is invited to this mobilization of cerebral and physical energy fields...

25th German Film Weekend at HELP University, Kelab Seni Filem Malaysia

German Lecturer Dr Torsten Schaar (UiTM, INTEC) introduces "Germany's Great Film Directors" in the German Film Series @ HELP University College with Kelab Seni Filem Malaysia; the six films were produced between 1927 and 1978.

Comics, Manga & Co.: The New Culture of German Comics

The exhibition Comics, Manga & Co. can be seen all February long at the Goethe-Institut Malaysia and at the German-Malaysian Institutte in Bangi.

All texts and comments are exclusively in German.

The Opening hours are from 10am to 5pm during week days.

Two generations of German artists - who have made significant contributions to the development of a new German comics culture - are presenting their colorful and multifaceted works.

Astrid Koeppe: Artist in Residence at Lost Generation Space
Dec 2011 to Feb 2012 at Lost Generation Space

Astrid Koeppe is the new German Artist in Residence.

From 9th to 24th February she presents her latest drawings in an exhibition at China House in Nos 153-155 Beach Street, Georgetown, Penang; the Opening will take place on Wed, 15th Feb at 6pm.

On 22 Feb she gives a talk about "Contemporary Drawing Practise" in the Fine Art Department of Dasein Academy of Art which is also open for the general public.

Lost Generation Space will organize various other seminars and workshops with Astrid, so do stay in touch with the gallerist, Yeoh Lian Heng:

Eco Knights Filmfest "Call for Entries" (Feb-Aug)": Goethe's recommendation

This year's 5th Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival is the nation's first and biggest film festival on environmental films.

The Festival will be held at the fairground of Dataran Tunku Canselor and the film screenings will be held at the Experimental Theatre.

All film submission entries for the 2012 film competition can be submitted to the Festival's online portal (see down below).

Poetry writing workshop "Call for Enrolment (11th, 18th Feb)": Goethe's recommendation

Workshop Description
This workshop is aimed at those who want to immerse themselves in poetry writing and emerge with a body of work that, if they wish, they can refine over time.
Participants will be introduced to various techniques and forms of poetry
